An Independent Amateur Radio Operator
Who Just Keeps Busy Blazing His Own Trail.

Picture

As an amateur radio operator my passion these days is talking to some of my out of town ham friends via
EchoLink on my computer.
VE6AGE-L
Simplex Node # 492973.

All this is done via RF through
my home, mobile or portable VHF/UHF radios.

Local VHF/UHF Simplex Frequencies That I Monitor

FM 146.520(S), 146.580(S) and 446.000(S) are the only 3 simplex frequencies that I monitor on my communication scanners and on my VHF/UHF radios while at home in my ham shack or while driving around town in my truck.

I no longer have the desire to monitor noisy repeaters.

I myself find that simplex communications are way much quieter, dependable and much more enjoyable and should be used more often by all amateur radio operators.

Out of town amateur radio operators, if you're ever driving through Medicine Hat, please give me a call on the National Calling Frequencies 146.520(S), 446.000(S) or 146.580(S) which is linked to EchoLink as VE6AGE-L Node # 492973.

I'm probably one of the very few local amateur radio operators that is on the air most of the time during the day.

Saturday May 26th, 2012
Wow, stopped in a garage sale at the the Bow Island community arena and got me an Astron 13.8 VDC / 10 Amp / 7.5 Continuous Power Supply. And it works fine. Now the kicker is I only paid $2.00.

And I got me another metal briefcase for $3.00. This one is smaller than the other that I have. It will be good to store some EMCOMM stuff.

I need donations please. My goal is to raise $2,000.00 in order for me to complete an Emergency Radio Grab & Go Box for our local SATERN group.

Go to the SATERN Of Medicine Hat page to donate via the "PayPal Donate Button".

Thanks to all that have already donated, the ball is now rolling.
